santacruz_VS_burst.jpg

Santa Cruz VS

In addition to the VA Model, the 1930's Advanced Jumbo, J-45 and the iconic early 60's Epiphone Texan also lent their considerable retro cool to the origins of the Vintage Southerner Model. The must have feature of the SCGC VS is the shorter, 24-3/4 inch scale length. It is so yielding to the touch that fretting and reach are a pleasure. The scale puts the bridge in the optimal position to produce the comforting, growling presence of an old blues recording. Solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides. ebony fingerboard and bridge, and open geared vintage style machineheads all come together to make this guitar a thing of oral and visual beauty. Amazing sounding guitar, simply one of the best sloped shoulder guitars you will ever hear. This particular one is in very good condition indeed.

gibson_LG2_34_used.jpg

Gibson LG2 Arlo Guthrie 3/4

This is a very rare bird indeed.

A while back, Gibson decided to celebrate Guthrie and Alice's Restaurant by releasing the Arlo Guthrie LG-2 3/4. This guitar, based off the guitar given to him by his father, the legendary Woody Guthrie, maintains the same design. The body is an L-00 Small Body with Sitka Spruce Top and Solid Mahogany back and sides. The neck is mahogany and maintains the unusual 22-3/4" length of the original. The bridge is Rosewood and the pickguard is tortoise L-00. As with every Gibson Acoustic guitar, a Nitrocellulose lacquer finish is included for tone. A hand-fit, tapered dovetail joint maximizes vibration transfer from neck to body. Finally, a hand-scalloped top bracing adds strengths and prevents the guitar from being top-heavy. This guitar is in very good condition.
