George Lowden is a legendary guitar luthier based in Northern Ireland. He constructs acoustic guitars, both steel and nylon strung. Lowden guitars are currently handcrafted in a small workshop in Downpatrick under the direct supervision of George himself.

Eric Clapton, Jan Akkerman, Vince Gill, Mike Oldfield, Pierre Bensusan, Alex de Grassi, Peter Finger, Nick Harper, Don Ross, Richard Thompson, Teddy Thompson, the late Eric Roche, Paul Brady, Lee Rogers, Gary Lightbody, Foy Vance, and Eric Hutchinson all use Lowden Guitars.

Lowden acoustics are recognised for their warm, folky tone combined with a volume and bell-like clarity that sets them apart from their counterparts. We are thrilled to announce that The Acoustic Centre is now an official Lowden dealer with our first shipment of guitars expected to land in approximately 6 months. Very exciting!
