So what is the most played song by customers in the Acoustic Centre?? Being an acoustic store, Stairway To Heaven and Smoke On The Water tend to take a back seat while our customers prefer to show their sensitive side.

It's fair to say that Yesterday by The Beatles would be in the top three. One of our good customers just shared this with us - some info on the actual guitar that Paul used on the original recording. We love this stuff, thank you Dave!

So what do you reckon the other two most played songs in Acoustic Centre are?!

The Beatles Gear

In late 1964, at the time Paul McCartney purchased his Epiphone Casino, he also acquired a right-handed 1964 Epiphone Texan FT-79 (Flat Top model 79) in a Natural finish. After modifying the guitar for left handed playing, McCartney used the Texan for much of his acoustic work, most famously the recording of “Yesterday” and also for a performance on the Ed Sullivan show. He still uses this guitar today for recording and live performances. To celebrate their 70th anniversary last year, Maton introduced a fantastic new guitar. Built from all-solid Spruce/Blackwood tonewoods, the 70th Anniversary model is available in both a dreadnought and 808 body shape. Other features include Rosewood binding, herringbone trim, a gloss top and a Hiscox flight case.

The good news is that due to great popularity, this model is set to remain in production for some time. We can't rave about these guitars enough. They are definitely one of the best sounding models that Maton currently offer with a lovely depth and plenty of top-end sparkle. A must hear!
