Our customer of the day is Joe from Manhattan, New York City. Three weeks ago Fiona Trembath from Melbourne came in to the store to buy a new classical guitar. It was to be for a homeless man named Joe who she had recently met in New York when she was there visiting her son. Fiona and her family incredibly raised enough money to get Joe off the streets and into a room in Queens. They have also helped him to find a part-time job to pay the rent. Up until this point he had been living on the streets of NY for several years.
Joe also plays classical guitar and busks in NY to supplement his income. The new guitar was stage two (unbeknown to Joe) of the fund-raising exercise. Fiona's son, Alex, was to take the guitar back to the States and give it to Joe as a surprise. Yesterday Alex braved a record New York blizzard to meet up with Joe in a cafe and present him with this beautiful new Katoh MCG115S classical guitar. They promised us a photo when it happened and here it is.
As expected, Joe couldn't believe it and was incredibly moved by the moment. He has since told Fiona, "I've been getting myself in trouble by neglecting snow shoveling duty to play as I can't put it down! Thank you so much. I will work on a piece to play for you when you come to NYC in April. Thank you for this work of art!".
What an amazing act of kindness by Fiona & Alex. Congratulations to you all...you did it!
Maton SRS70. Another fantastic all solid guitar from Maton Guitars built right here in Melbourne. This is one of Matons great new acoustic electric guitars, and they really nailed it. All solid wood construction, spruce top, Victorian blackwood back and sides, and Matons newest bracing system, all add up to a punchy and warm sounding guitar. This model has a slightly deeper tone than the SRS70C as it's a Jumbo body shape. Comes with the AP5-Pro pickup system. $1,999 in Maton hard case or take home today for $21 a week on our Studio 19 rental program. #studio19
Our customer of the day is local musician, Kate McMahon. We have reason to believe that Kate just may be the first person to be our customer of the day three times! She has bought a couple of fine Martins from us over the years but today Kate was looking for something to use for her work as a music therapist. This sweet little Sigma 000 was the perfect choice. Thank you so much, Kate...'til next time!
This is the Martin SWDGT dreadnought. This guitar is an absolute beauty. SW stands for sustainable wood - the top is solid Spruce, the back and sides are solid Cherrywood.
This model has recently been deleted by Martin and this is the last one we'll have. We are knocking $1,200 off the RRP and letting it go for $2,399. A seriously great sounding guitar going for a seriously great deal!!
