The Cole Clark FL2EC Blackwood/Blackwood is an exceptional acoustic-electric guitar that offers outstanding tone and playability. It is part of the Fat Lady 2 series, featuring body binding and pearl-style snowflake inlays, which enhance its visual appeal. Crafted with a solid Blackwood top, solid Blackwood back and sides, and equipped with a new 3-way pickup system, this guitar delivers a rich and versatile sound. It also comes with a Cole Clark Tweed case for protection and transportation.

The FL2EC Blackwood/Blackwood is known for its exceptional tonal characteristics. The solid Blackwood top provides a warm and balanced tone with great resonance, while the solid Blackwood back and sides contribute to the guitar's overall richness and depth. The combination of these tonewoods results in a well-rounded and expressive sound that suits various musical styles.

Equipped with a new 3-way pickup system developed by Cole Clark, this guitar offers versatile and natural-sounding amplified tones. The pickup system captures the true essence of the instrument's acoustic sound, allowing you to reproduce its rich tones when playing through an amplifier or PA system. Whether you're performing on stage or recording in the studio, the FL2EC Blackwood/Blackwood provides reliable and high-quality sound reproduction.

The guitar features body binding and pearl-style snowflake inlays, adding an elegant touch to its appearance. The inlays also serve as useful markers for accurate fret positioning, enhancing playability and ease of use.

With a Blackbean fingerboard and bridge, the FL2EC Blackwood/Blackwood offers a smooth and comfortable playing experience. The high-quality craftsmanship ensures excellent playability and durability, making it a reliable instrument for both live performances and studio sessions.

Cole Clark guitars undergo the PLEK process, a precision fret leveling and setup technique that guarantees optimal playability. This process is performed using CNC machines, which ensure consistent and accurate results. The PLEK process eliminates issues related to string action and intonation, resulting in a guitar that plays smoothly and sounds its best.

In terms of specifications, the FL2EC Blackwood/Blackwood is a cutaway dreadnought guitar with an internally carved top and back. It features a Queensland Maple neck, solid Australian Blackwood top, back, and sides, and a She Oak bridge and fretboard. The guitar is equipped with Grover machine heads, a Graph Tech Tusq nut and saddle, and Phosphor Bronze 12-53 strings. The nut width is 44mm (1.73 inches), offering a comfortable playing experience for a variety of playing styles.

Overall, the Cole Clark FL2EC Blackwood/Blackwood is a remarkable acoustic-electric guitar that combines superior craftsmanship, exceptional tonewoods, versatile electronics, and reliable playability. Whether you're a professional musician or an avid enthusiast, this guitar is designed to deliver exceptional sound and performance in various musical settings.

All of our Cole Clarks have been PLEKed!

PLEK machines are built and sold by A+D Gitarrentechnologie of Berlin, Germany. The machines were developed by musician and guitar instructor Gerd Anke with his partner Michael Dubach, who called their company PLEKTRON when it was founded in 1990. The goal of the PLEK process they created is to guarantee the best possible string action for each instrument. Simply put, a guitar with optimized playability sounds better. The strings do not strike the frets during playing and any intonation problems that may occur due to too-low string action are eliminated. Similarly, action that’s too high is also a thing of the past with PLEKing.

The PLEKing process is done by CNC (computer numerical control) machines, which use microprocessors to perform their tasks. That doesn’t mean human craftspeople are excluded from this process. The PLEK machine is ultimately a tool to reduce variances between guitars, which allows Cole Clarks expert builders to do their jobs more efficiently.
