The Cole Clark 'Angel' AN2EC Blackwood/Blackwood Acoustic Electric Guitar is a superb instrument that offers a combination of quality craftsmanship, tonewoods, and versatile electronics. This model features a solid Blackwood top, solid Blackwood back and sides, and a River She Oak fingerboard, providing a rich and resonant sound.

The AN2EC has a cutaway Grand Auditorium body shape with an internally carved top and back. This design enhances the guitar's acoustic projection and responsiveness. The use of solid timber throughout the instrument contributes to its tonal complexity and overall quality.

Equipped with the Cole Clark 3-way pickup system, this guitar offers a range of amplified sound options. The pickup system is known for its clarity and natural sound reproduction, ensuring excellent performance in live settings and studio recordings.

The guitar features a nitrocellulose finish in a natural satin sheen, giving it an elegant appearance. The neck is made of Queensland Maple, providing a comfortable playing experience. The top, back, and sides are crafted from Australian Blackwood, which produces a warm and balanced tone with a pleasing dynamic range.

The AN2EC showcases inlaid timber binding, purfling, and a rosette, adding a touch of sophistication to its visual aesthetic. The bridge and fretboard are made of River She Oak, contributing to the guitar's tonal character. The fretboard is adorned with Abalone Snowflake inlays, adding a touch of elegance and aiding in easy navigation along the neck.

Grover machine heads ensure smooth and precise tuning, while the Graph Tech Tusq nut and saddle provide tonal consistency and excellent sustain. The guitar is strung with Phosphor Bronze strings in a 12-53 gauge, delivering a balanced and warm acoustic tone.

Included with the guitar is a Cole Clark tweed case, offering protection and portability for the instrument. Additionally, a pickguard is supplied in the case, allowing you to add it to the guitar if desired.

Overall, the Cole Clark 'Angel' AN2EC Blackwood/Blackwood Acoustic Electric Guitar is a high-quality instrument that combines premium tonewoods, versatile electronics, and elegant design elements. It is an excellent choice for musicians seeking a reliable and visually appealing acoustic-electric guitar with exceptional sound performance in a variety of musical genres.

All of our Cole Clarks have been PLEKed!

PLEK machines are built and sold by A+D Gitarrentechnologie of Berlin, Germany. The machines were developed by musician and guitar instructor Gerd Anke with his partner Michael Dubach, who called their company PLEKTRON when it was founded in 1990. The goal of the PLEK process they created is to guarantee the best possible string action for each instrument. Simply put, a guitar with optimized playability sounds better. The strings do not strike the frets during playing and any intonation problems that may occur due to too-low string action are eliminated. Similarly, action that’s too high is also a thing of the past with PLEKing.

The PLEKing process is done by CNC (computer numerical control) machines, which use microprocessors to perform their tasks. That doesn’t mean human craftspeople are excluded from this process. The PLEK machine is ultimately a tool to reduce variances between guitars, which allows Cole Clarks expert builders to do their jobs more efficiently.
