Cole Clark 'Angel' AN2EC Blackwood / Blackwood Humbucker Acoustic Electric Guitar

The Cole Clark 'Angel' AN2EC Blackwood/Blackwood Humbucker Acoustic Electric Guitar is an exceptional instrument that combines the versatility of an acoustic-electric guitar with the power and clarity of a humbucker pickup. This model is part of the Angel 2 series, which features body binding and pearl-style snowflake inlays for added visual appeal.

The AN2EC boasts a solid Blackwood top, solid Blackwood back and sides, and a Blackbean fingerboard and bridge. These tonewoods contribute to the guitar's rich, balanced, and resonant sound characteristics.

One of the standout features of this model is the addition of a Lollar Imperial humbucker pickup in the bridge position. The humbucker offers a powerful, warm, and articulate tone, making it well-suited for genres that require higher gain or more aggressive playing styles. The humbucker pickup is positioned in a block and has separate volume and tone controls on the guitar's face.

The guitar incorporates Cole Clark's PG3 pickup system, which provides a range of amplified sounds and exceptional sound quality. The pickup system ensures accurate sound reproduction and allows you to blend the acoustic and electric tones seamlessly.

The guitar features a nitrocellulose finish in a natural satin sheen, enhancing its visual appeal while allowing the tonewoods to resonate freely. The neck is made of Queensland Maple, offering a comfortable playing experience.

The top, back, and sides are crafted from AA grade Australian Blackwood, known for its warm, balanced, and dynamic tonal qualities. The guitar showcases inlaid timber binding, purfling, and a rosette, adding a touch of elegance to its appearance.

The She Oak bridge and fretboard contribute to the guitar's tonal character, while the Snowflake inlays on the fretboard add a tasteful aesthetic touch.

The AN2EC is equipped with Grover machine heads, ensuring smooth and precise tuning. The Graph Tech Tusq nut and saddle enhance tonal consistency and sustain, while the guitar is strung with Phosphor Bronze strings in a 12-53 gauge.

Included with the guitar is a Cole Clark Hardcase in a tweed finish, providing reliable protection and portability for the instrument. Additionally, a pickguard is supplied in the case.

Overall, the Cole Clark 'Angel' AN2EC Blackwood/Blackwood Humbucker Acoustic Electric Guitar offers a versatile and powerful playing experience. With its high-quality tonewoods, exceptional pickup system, and elegant design elements, this instrument is suitable for a wide range of musical styles, particularly those that require a combination of acoustic and electric tones.

All of our Cole Clarks have been PLEKed!

PLEK machines are built and sold by A+D Gitarrentechnologie of Berlin, Germany. The machines were developed by musician and guitar instructor Gerd Anke with his partner Michael Dubach, who called their company PLEKTRON when it was founded in 1990. The goal of the PLEK process they created is to guarantee the best possible string action for each instrument. Simply put, a guitar with optimised playability sounds better. The strings do not strike the frets during playing and any intonation problems that may occur due to too-low string action are eliminated. Similarly, an action that’s too high is also a thing of the past with PLEKing.

The PLEKing process is done by CNC (computer numerical control) machines, which use microprocessors to perform their tasks. That doesn’t mean human craftspeople are excluded from this process. The PLEK machine is ultimately a tool to reduce variances between guitars, which allows Cole Clark's expert builders to do their jobs more efficiently.
