Mick has been the owner and manager of Acoustic Centre since it’s inception, despite being an out-and-proud bass player and 90’s rock luminary. In the more than 25 years that he’s been dedicated to acoustic guitars, Mick has played every guitar that you could possibly imagine, but there’s only one that he’s kept: his one-of-a-kind personalised Maton Custom Shop Traditional.
Our resident Queenslander and denim enthusiast, Dan’s obsession with and knowledge of the finer points of acoustic instruments is second-to-none. While he’s best known as the inventor of the SadcoreTM movement, he’s also a passionate authority on cricket, crime podcasts and incredibly expensive capos. Dan recently received a custom-built Santa Cruz Vintage Jumbo, and couldn’t be happier.
Whatever you dream guitar might be, chances are that Benny has owned it at some point. Benny is our expert repair tech, but is equally well informed on barbecue, the blues and The Boss. Right now his guitar of choice is this super-cool Harmony Espanada Archtop, but ask again tomorrow.
Equally skilled behind the camera as he is with a guitar in his hand, Josh creates all of the video content that you can find on our website. When he’s not shooting, editing or playing for our benefit, he’s backing up Australian rock legends on stages around the world. His current go-to acoustic guitar is this fine Martin OM-21.
The latest and greatest addition to our team, you might recognise Hamish from his wonderful playing on our Instagram videos. When he can tear himself away from his collection of vintage Telecasters, his guitars of choice are a Lowden S32J and a Martin Custom Shop CEO-7.
After spending the last few years as a guitar tech and tour manager to some of of Australia’s biggest bands, Ryan joined the Acoustic Centre team as repair tech and website manager and hasn’t looked back. While he’s another closeted bass player, Ryan is besotted with his all-mahogany Waterloo WL-12 MH.
