Roger Buckmaster is an acclaimed and much-loved Australian luthier, renowned for his exceptional violins and intricately designed banjos. This beautiful romantic-style classical guitar is a rare and unusual piece and demonstrates why Roger is one of the most respected builders in the country.
Featuring Indian Rosewood back-and-sides with a gorgeous Spruce top, the guitar is incredibly lightly-braced, and rewards a delicate touch. It has gorgeously sweet overtones, and a rich, complex tonality. Period-correct details include a small parlour-sized body and traditional friction tuners.
There's been some work done over the years - notable, the neck was reset and fretboard reattached by luthier Daniel Hoban, who also added his own intricate and refined rosette. It plays wonderfully, and nails the tone of romantic-era and older guitars. The delicate finish has some playwear and signs of wear from the last 40 years, but is ready for another 40 years of music. Includes fitted hardshell case.
