Fender Wildwood 2 Preowned 1968
Here’s a wonderful vintage acoustic from 1968; a Fender Wildwood II. These were aptly named as the colour of the wood in the back, sides & headstock came from dye that was injected into a living Beech tree! (Couldn’t get away with that  these days!). This guitar is like other Fender acoustic guitars of the time, were unique in that the neck of the acoustic guitar was the same as those used on Fender electric guitars ( The necks are pretty much the same necks off the 1966 Jazzmasters but with the block inlays). and bolted to a block inside the acoustic guitar body. A "resonator bar" extended inside the body from the neck block to the bottom of the guitar, which reportedly benefited the tone of the guitar.  They play like…well, they play like electric guitars. Thin, fast necks, great action and responsiveness. A true joy to play. Charlie Pride played one of these during the height of his career in the late 60’s. Elvis was seen playing an earlier version, again, aptly named, the Fender Kingman in the film Clambake! This one is a beauty and in pretty good condition for it's age with just one laqour lacquer crack on the soundboard and some play wear on the top where a previous owner has enjoyed some exuberant strumming. comes with a Hard Case
