Preowned Goodall EGCC Grand Concert Acoustic guitar
The Grand Concert model is a beautifully proportioned shape, and a tone that has a wonderful blend of balanced and clarity, with punchy projection, and a smooth rich bass response. This instrument is larger than the Parlor but smaller than the Concert Jumbo. It has clear trebles, with excellent sustain, and is comfortable to hold. Though it is a small guitar, it does not exhibit the tight nasal tone that is generally associated with smaller guitars.
"This is a great all rounder which would suit most styles"
While the Grand Concert series is considered ideal for the fingerstylist due to its sensitive, dynamic responsiveness, it is equally appropriate for the flatpicker or plectrum player with the appropriate tonewood combination. It is prized by Bluegrass flatpickers and has even been said to surpass large-bodied dreadnought guitars with respect to its clarity, sustain, and powerful projection.
Looking and sounding fantastic with its high grade Sitka Spruce soundboard and Macassar Ebony back and sides, this guitar is a true masterpiece.
Overall condition is very good as this guitar has had very little use and comes in a hard shell case.
The Bourgeois DS-12 DB Signature is a 12-fret acoustic that offers amazing tone and clarity. This dreadnought features a Redwood top, Cocobolo back and sides, and Koa Rosette wood tile. The classic design of this instrument makes it at once familiar while delivering a unique, unmatchable voice.
Rarely seen in Australia, this Santa Cruz 1934 OM features master-grade Brazilian Rosewood cut in the 1930's and master-grade old growth Adirondack spruce. This 2012 guitar is in incredible condition and even includes the original CITES certificate. The 1934 series materials are very challenging to acquire (and even more challenging to bring into Australia!) and these master-grade timbers are extremely limited. This is a once-in-a-lifetime instrument and sounds absolutely phenomenal.
In 1934, some of the best acoustic instruments were made. The pre-war years are considered the ‘golden era’ of guitar building and 1934 is the iconic, sought after year for herringbones. This is when the steel string designs were perfected, matched with superior tonewoods. No one has reproduced the essence of the iconic originals, until now. The secret to the often superior tone of vintage instruments lies in aged woods (crystallized resins) and the relaxation of tensions built-in during manufacture. This is exactly what Santa Cruz accounted for in their 1934 OM Model. Master Grade Brazilian Rosewood cut in the 1930’s, master grade/old growth Adirondack Spruce tops and bracing and real hot hide glue are among the secret weapons. Hot hide glue is a time tested, natural adhesive that sets glass-like and resonant for a quicker, cleaner response. This isn’t ‘like the old stuff.’ It is the old stuff. These rarified materials give us the foundation for a true and genuine vintage sound.
By applying their singular tuning and voicing talents and taking our time to ensure a relaxed assembly, Santa Cruz consistently accesses the secrets to the ‘Old Bone’ sound. The original lacquer formula, nitrocellulose, is composed of the same stuff as trees; we are protecting and enhancing the sound of the instrument with a fine coating of wood! It is the only choice to complement this heirloom quality guitar.View full product details
