Cole Clark AN3EC-CLCL 'Camphor Laurel' Acoustic Electric Guitar

The Cole Clark AN3EC-CLCL 'Camphor Laurel' Acoustic Electric Guitar is a beautifully crafted instrument made in Australia, featuring highly-figured native and reclaimed timbers. The AN3 model showcases the stunning aesthetics and exceptional tonal qualities of all-solid Camphor Laurel. This guitar delivers Cole Clark's renowned cutting and clear tone with enhanced harmonic complexity.

Whether you're performing live, recording in a studio, or simply playing at home, the AN3 will impress with its versatility and exceptional sound quality. It is equipped with the highly-praised Cole Clark pickup system, ensuring an unmatched plugged-in tone that captures the natural acoustic character of the guitar.

All Cole Clark guitars, including the AN3EC-CLCL, undergo the PLEK process, guaranteeing optimal playability and superior string action. The PLEK machines, developed by Gerd Anke and Michael Dubach, utilize CNC technology to refine the instrument's fretwork and eliminate intonation issues. The PLEK process reduces variations between guitars, allowing Cole Clark's skilled builders to focus on their craftsmanship.

In terms of specifications, the AN3EC-CLCL is an all-solid timber cutaway grand auditorium guitar with an internally carved top and back. It is constructed entirely from sustainable timbers, reflecting Cole Clark's commitment to environmental responsibility. The guitar features AAA grade Camphor Laurel for the top, back, and sides, providing both visual beauty and exceptional tonal characteristics.

The neck is made of Queensland Maple, while the bridge and fretboard are crafted from She Oak. Abalone inlays adorn the fretboard, waist, and rosette, adding a touch of elegance to the instrument. The guitar is equipped with Grover Gold machine heads, a Graph Tech Tusq nut and saddle, and Phosphor Bronze strings.

Overall, the Cole Clark AN3EC-CLCL 'Camphor Laurel' Acoustic Electric Guitar is a remarkable instrument that combines exquisite craftsmanship, sustainable timber choices, and outstanding tonal qualities. It is a versatile guitar suitable for various playing styles and environments, offering superb acoustic projection and an exceptional plugged-in tone.

All of our Cole Clarks have been PLEKed!

PLEK machines are built and sold by A+D Gitarrentechnologie of Berlin, Germany. The machines were developed by musician and guitar instructor Gerd Anke with his partner Michael Dubach, who called their company PLEKTRON when it was founded in 1990. The goal of the PLEK process they created is to guarantee the best possible string action for each instrument. Simply put, a guitar with optimized playability sounds better. The strings do not strike the frets during playing and any intonation problems that may occur due to too-low string action are eliminated. Similarly, action that’s too high is also a thing of the past with PLEKing.

The PLEKing process is done by CNC (computer numerical control) machines, which use microprocessors to perform their tasks. That doesn’t mean human craftspeople are excluded from this process. The PLEK machine is ultimately a tool to reduce variances between guitars, which allows Cole Clarks expert builders to do their jobs more efficiently.
