Bourbon Street BSR-1C-A 'Aged Style 0' Resonator Guitar

Available at Acoustic Centre Melbourne

The Bourbon Street BSR-1C-A 'Aged Style 0' Resonator Guitar is a meticulously crafted instrument designed by Bourbon Street, a small boutique manufacturer specialising in steel guitar design and innovation. Resonator guitars, also known as resophonic guitars, were originally developed to provide increased volume and projection in dance orchestras. They achieved this by using a spun aluminium cone (resonator) to conduct string vibrations instead of relying solely on the guitar's soundboard.

The BSR-1C-A pays homage to those classic resonator guitars while incorporating modern manufacturing techniques and features. It features a Bell Brass body with an aged nickel finish, giving it a vintage and distinguished appearance. The hand-spun Continental aluminium cone contributes to the guitar's unique and powerful tone.

The guitar is equipped with a punchy single-coil passive pickup, which can be adjusted using the volume and tone controls. This allows you to amplify the instrument's distinctive resonator sound when desired.

Antique geared tuners ensure precise and reliable tuning stability. The guitar also features a round mahogany neck and a Blackwood Tek fretboard, providing a comfortable playing experience. With 14 frets to the body, it offers good access to higher notes on the fingerboard.

The BSR-1C-A 'Aged Style 0' Resonator Guitar incorporates a maple saddle and has a scale length of 25 1/2 inches (65.3 cm). The fingerboard width at the nut is 1 13/16 inches (46mm), offering ample space for fingerstyle playing and chord fingerings. Included with the guitar is a hard bag, providing protection and convenience for transportation.

The Bourbon Street BSR-1C-A 'Aged Style 0' Resonator Guitar combines traditional design elements with modern manufacturing techniques, resulting in a high-quality instrument that offers outstanding tone and playability. Its attention to detail, including the choice of materials and the incorporation of a single-coil pickup, sets it apart as a remarkable instrument in its price range.
