Fender King Vintage 'Mojave' Acoustic Electric Guitar

Available at Acoustic Centre Melbourne

The Fender King Vintage 'Mojave' Acoustic Electric Guitar pays homage to the fearless creative culture of Southern California in the early 1960s. At that time, Leo Fender aimed to design a new collection of acoustic instruments that embodied the innovative spirit of the artists surrounding him. Collaborating with legendary luthier Roger Rossmeisl, Leo introduced several unique acoustic models that featured iconic headstock shapes, easy-to-play neck profiles, and radical styling, ultimately revolutionizing Fender Acoustics. Today, Fender's California Vintage models draw inspiration directly from this mid-century heritage, blending a retro visual vibe with 21st-century performance and a rich, refined acoustic tone.

The King Vintage guitar boasts an innovative Performance-X™ bracing pattern in its dreadnought body, constructed with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid ovangkol back and sides. This combination produces a substantial, bass-filled voice with exceptional detail, projection, and volume. The okoume neck features a modern "V" profile and a 25.5" scale length for optimal sustain. The tilt-back 6-in-line headstock with a maple headcap adds a distinctive look rooted in Fender's electric guitar DNA. Other notable features include a bound ovangkol fingerboard with pearloid block inlays, vintage-style tuning machines for smooth and accurate tuning, and a bone nut and saddle for superior harmonic character.

Designed for live performance, the onboard Fishman® Sonitone Plus preamp system features seamless soundhole-mounted controls that blend an undersaddle piezo and internal body transducer, allowing faithful and reliable reproduction of the guitar's natural sound when connected to an amplifier or recording device. A vintage-style hardshell case is included for secure transport and storage.
