The Collings 470 JL Julian Lage Signature is a bold reimagining of the hollow-body electric guitar, developed in collaboration with jazz virtuoso Julian Lage. With a fully hollow mahogany body and trestle block design, topped with laminated maple, the 470 JL delivers a dynamic and nuanced tone suited to players who demand responsiveness and clarity. This guitar is built to Julian’s exacting preferences, featuring a shorter 24 7/8" scale, a comfortable 12" radius ebony fretboard, and a lightweight build that encourages fluidity and feel.

The guitar is powered by a pair of Ron Ellis Ellisonic pickups—custom-voiced for versatility—paired with DiMarzio 500K pots and Jupiter Vintage Yellow capacitors for a refined signal path. Premium touches like the Bigsby B3 vibrato, relic nickel Waverly tuners, and aged ‘Antiqued Black’ nitro finish complete its vintage-modern aesthetic. Whether on stage or in studio, the 470 JL offers a deeply expressive tool for serious players seeking a signature voice.

Features:

  • Fully hollow mahogany body with trestle block and maple laminate top

  • Ron Ellis Ellisonic pickups with custom wiring for tonal flexibility

  • Bigsby B3 vibrato tailpiece and pinned ebony base tune-o-matic bridge

  • 24 7/8" scale length with 12" radius ebony fingerboard and pearl dot inlays

  • Includes deluxe Ameritage hardshell case for maximum protection
