Shipping & Delivery

Do you ship guitars Australia-wide?

Yes — we offer tracked, insured shipping across Australia. Every guitar is inspected, setup and carefully packed by our team before dispatch.

How long does delivery take?

Metro areas typically receive orders in 1–3 business days. Regional/remote deliveries usually arrive within 3–7 business days, depending on the carrier and location.

How do you pack guitars for safe transit?

Instruments are individually checked, and packed securely in our custom-designed shipping boxes. Hard/soft cases are protected inside heavy-duty cartons with fragile handling labels.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Tracking details are emailed when your order ships. If you need help, contact us and we’ll monitor progress with the carrier.

Do you offer international shipping?

Not at this time, sorry!

Where is Acoustic Centre located?

Our showroom is at 206 Park Street, South Melbourne, VIC 3205 — open 7 days a week.

Can I book a private demo?

Yes. We’re happy to organise focused demo time. Get in touch with the models you’d like to try and preferred times.

Do you setup guitars before delivery?

Absolutely. Every guitar receives a professional inspection and setup so it arrives ready to play.

Do you offer repairs and maintenance?

Yes — restrings, setups, fretwork and more. You can also book online at our repairs page.

Payment & Returns

What payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal and select buy-now-pay-later options (e.g., Afterpay/Zip where available). In-store EFTPOS is also available.

What is your returns policy?

We offer a 14-day change-of-mind window on online purchases. Items must be returned in original condition with all packaging. See Shipping & Returns for full terms.

Do you offer lay-by or financing?

We offer 3-month layby periods on new items and 4-week layby periods on used instruments with no additional charges.

Can I get a tax invoice for business purchase?

Yes — invoices include ABN and GST details for your records.

Buying Guides & Product Questions

What should I look for in my first acoustic guitar?

Comfortable body size, smooth setup, stable tuning, and a tone that inspires practice. Choose the guitar that most inspires you to pick up and play, that fits within your budget. Our team can shortlist great beginner options to suit your budget.

What’s the difference between common tonewoods?

Spruce tops = clarity and headroom; Cedar = warm response at light touch; Mahogany/Rosewood backs change warmth/overtones. Ask us for brand-specific examples.

How do I choose between Maton, Martin, Taylor, Gibson, etc.?

Each brand voices guitars differently. Tell us your style, feel and budget — we’ll match you to models that fit your sound and playing comfort.

Do you have left-handed or short-scale options?

Yes. We regularly stock left-handed and shorter-scale instruments. Contact us for current availability.

Trade-ins & Consignments

Can I trade in my old guitar?

Yes. Bring your instrument for an assessment or send details/photos for a preliminary estimate.

Do you sell on consignment?

We do. We’ll agree on a list price and commission, then market your instrument to our audience. See our consignment information page for how it works, and to send photos and details for appraisal.

Warranty & Aftercare

What warranty is included?

All new instruments include the manufacturer’s warranty. We’ll help facilitate any claims — keep your receipt and serial number handy.

What if my guitar arrives with an issue?

Contact us right away. We’ll assess and resolve promptly — including setup adjustments, repair or replacement where appropriate.

Do you offer ongoing support?

Yes — advice, adjustments and maintenance tips are part of our service. We’re here long after your purchase.

Click & Collect

Can I order online and collect in store?

Yes — select Store Pickupat checkout. We’ll email you when your order is ready to pick up from our South Melbourne showroom. Please note that we will require identification and in some cases the bank card used to purchase the item.

How soon is collection available?

Most in-stock items are ready within business hours the same or next day. Bring photo ID and your order confirmation.
