The first incarnation of Gibson’s famous ES-175 came in 1949, as a single pickup version, (P-90s). In 1952 the twin pickup version appeared – the ES-175D – also originally fitted with P-90s, then, from early 1957, the guitars began to be fitted with Seth Lover’s newly invented hum-cancelling pickups, which would forever change the world of electric guitars, under the name bestowed on them by Gibson: “humbuckers”. The ES175 Single pickup model, like the ES-175D, uses Maple Laminate body construction to reduce feedback, and the body is bound top and back, befitting one of Gibson's more luxurious archtop guitars.
This 2000-built and very rare model is in superb condition, with very little playwear whatsoever and incredible craftsmanship throughout. The neck-mounted Gibson humbucker sounds absolutely stunning, with enough versatility to work for endless genres and a thick, rich imperious tone. The playability is incredible and it's been very well cared-for by it's one owner. It's all original aside from the replaced bridge - the original Tunomatic is in the case, but it has been replaced with a beautiful handmade ebony saddle for a warmer, rounder tone that is simply spellbinding. A wonderful and rarely-seen archtop guitar. Includes original hardshell case.

Customers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Far North Queensland recieve free shipping on all accessory orders over $99, but will incur a flat rate instrument or large item shipping charge of $179 (or $299 for Express shipping).
Occasionally due to issues with delivering to remote or unusual destinations, we aren't able to offer free postage. We reserve the right to retract the offer if freight costs exceed 15% of your purchase. We will always notify you if there is an issue and offer a full refund or arrange alternative delivery options.
All strings and accessories will be shipped with tracking via courier or Australia Post. Other items including guitars and amplification equipment will be shipped using our courier service providers, with a tracking number and signature on delivery.
