Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s P-90 'Goldtop' Electric Guitar

Available at Acoustic Centre Melbourne

The Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s P-90 'Goldtop' Electric Guitar is a true testament to the classic design that solidified Gibson's Les Paul as an iconic instrument. It beautifully captures the essence of Gibson's Golden Era, delivering an authentic vintage experience. This guitar features a solid mahogany body with a maple top, dressed in a stunning goldtop finish that pays homage to its vintage heritage. The mahogany neck boasts a rounded 50's-style profile and is paired with a rosewood fingerboard adorned with trapezoid inlays, ensuring a comfortable and familiar feel for players who cherish the vintage Les Paul.

In terms of hardware, the Les Paul Standard '50s P-90 comes equipped with classic components, including an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum stop bar tailpiece, and vintage deluxe tuners with keystone buttons. The guitar's amber hat knobs further enhance its vintage appeal. Its tonal character is shaped by a pair of legendary P-90 pickups—one in the neck position and one in the bridge position. These pickups are known for their distinctive tonal qualities, offering a sharp treble response, high output, and the ability to clean up beautifully when rolling back the volume knob.

The guitar embodies classic Les Paul styling, featuring a carved maple top on a solid mahogany body, trapezoid fingerboard inlays, and the iconic gold finish that defines its vintage charm. Even the internal circuitry is meticulously handwired with Orange Drop capacitors. Playability is a top priority for Gibson, and this guitar doesn't disappoint. The vintage '50s neck profile ensures a comfortable grip, while the rosewood fingerboard is expertly crafted for smooth and effortless play. The frets are Plek'd to perfection, guaranteeing precise intonation and outstanding playability.

Furthermore, the Les Paul Standard '50s P-90 showcases a nitrocellulose lacquer finish, reminiscent of vintage Gibson guitars. Nitro finishes, being thinner than modern polyurethane finishes, allow the wood to breathe and resonate more freely. This not only contributes to the guitar's exquisite appearance but also enhances its overall tonal characteristics. The result is an instrument that not only looks and feels like a cherished classic but also ages gracefully over time, further enhancing its sonic qualities. Whether you're a fan of classic rock, blues, or any genre that thrives on a versatile and vintage-inspired tone, this guitar embodies the timeless spirit of Gibson's Les Paul lineage.
