The Gibson Custom Shop True Historic 1957 Les Paul Custom “Black Beauty” represents the absolute peak of vintage reissue craftsmanship, meticulously recreated to capture the look, feel, and tone of an original late-’50s Les Paul. Built using historically accurate materials and construction techniques, this model features a solid, non-weight relieved mahogany body paired with a carved mahogany top, delivering a thick, rich tonal foundation with exceptional sustain and warmth. The result is a powerful, articulate voice that excels across everything from clean jazz tones to driven rock and blues.

Every detail of the True Historic series has been carefully considered, from hide glue construction and hand-sanded thin lacquer finishes to vintage-correct plastics and hardware. The early ‘50s rounded neck profile offers a substantial yet comfortable feel, while the ebony fingerboard provides a fast, smooth playing surface with excellent note definition. Loaded with Custom Bucker pickups, this Black Beauty delivers classic PAF-style tone - warm, dynamic, and incredibly expressive. This is as close as it gets to owning a true vintage Gibson, built with uncompromising attention to detail.

This 2006-built guitar is phenomenal - simply one of the best LP Customs I've ever played, vintage or otherwise. It's incredibly clean too, with barely any sign of playwear whatsoever - even the pickguard sticker is intact. It has the classic growl and chime that you'd want from a Custom, with a smoother, richer voice than you'll find from a Standard. It plays beautifully, with a low and buzz-free action that makes it hard to put down. Includes original hardshell case.
