The Cole Clark FL2EC Bunya/Blackwood Acoustic Electric Guitar is a remarkable instrument that offers outstanding tone and sustainable construction. As part of the Fat Lady 2 series, it inherits the excellent sound characteristics of the Fat Lady 1 guitars while incorporating several enhancements. This model features a solid Bunya top, solid Blackwood back and sides, and a cutaway design for improved access to higher frets.

The FL2EC Bunya/Blackwood model stands out with its elegant body binding and pearl-style block inlays, adding a touch of sophistication to its appearance. It boasts a 100% sustainable timber construction, making it an eco-friendly choice for environmentally conscious musicians. The guitar comes equipped with a new 3-way pickup system, allowing you to achieve a versatile range of tones. The BlackBean fingerboard and bridge contribute to the guitar's overall sustain and playability.

In terms of specifications, the FL2EC Bunya/Blackwood is a cutaway dreadnought guitar with an internally carved top and back. The neck is crafted from Queensland Maple, providing stability and a comfortable playing experience. The solid Bunya top contributes to the guitar's rich and warm tone, while the Tasmanian Blackwood back and sides enhance its overall projection and resonance. The inlaid timber binding, purfling, and rosette add a touch of elegance to the instrument's visual appeal. The bridge and fretboard are made of Blackbean, offering durability and smooth playability. The snowflake inlays on the fretboard add a tasteful touch to the guitar's aesthetics. The machine heads are provided by Grover, ensuring precise and stable tuning. The nut and saddle are crafted from Graph Tech Tusq, a synthetic material known for its consistent performance. The guitar comes strung with Phosphor Bronze 12-53 strings, delivering a balanced and vibrant tone. The nut width measures 44mm (1.73 inches), providing comfortable fretting for various playing styles.

The Cole Clark FL2EC Bunya/Blackwood Acoustic Electric Guitar is a versatile and environmentally friendly instrument that excels in both acoustic and electric settings. With its high-quality construction, attention to detail, and excellent tonal capabilities, it is a great choice for discerning musicians who value sustainability and performance.

All of our Cole Clarks have been PLEKed!

PLEK machines are built and sold by A+D Gitarrentechnologie of Berlin, Germany. The machines were developed by musician and guitar instructor Gerd Anke with his partner Michael Dubach, who called their company PLEKTRON when it was founded in 1990. The goal of the PLEK process they created is to guarantee the best possible string action for each instrument. Simply put, a guitar with optimized playability sounds better. The strings do not strike the frets during playing and any intonation problems that may occur due to too-low string action are eliminated. Similarly, action that’s too high is also a thing of the past with PLEKing.

The PLEKing process is done by CNC (computer numerical control) machines, which use microprocessors to perform their tasks. That doesn’t mean human craftspeople are excluded from this process. The PLEK machine is ultimately a tool to reduce variances between guitars, which allows Cole Clarks expert builders to do their jobs more efficiently.

    My workhorse

12 years with my Fast lady and I've never played another acoustic that has felt this right. Beautifully low action with no buzz and it really shines plugged in. I don't know if I will ever find another like it.

    My go to guitar

I bought my Cole Clarke FL2 from the Acoustic Centre some years ago. It's quite simply a superb guitar. Easy to play up and down the neck with beautiful rich mid tones. The tone has improved and the bunya top has taken on a rich hue as it's aged Great build quality and very robust. Sounds great plugged in. A versatile guitar that lends itself to a variety of playing styles. Outstanding service and advice from The Acoustic Centre. Can't recommend both the Cole Clark FL2 BB and The Acoustic Centre enough.

A Guitar So Natural it is almost still a tree

I have had this Guitar for nearly a Year now and it just keeps getting better. By far the best Acoustic Guitar I have owned and played. It has the warmest tone I have heard and has a big sound before plugging in. Once plugged in this just emphasises. The pick-up is truly remarkable as it maintains its natural sound as opposed to a tinny sound like on so many other Acoustic Guitars. I have toured the Cole Clark Factory and can vouch for just how much work goes into one of these. They keep the timber as natural as possible and they really look like they were just plucked from a tree and slapped some strings on It. These Guitars are built to last and age incredibly well. I have played some older ones and the sound gets richer and richer with Age. Extremely comfortable to play and the new cases are an added bonus as they are just as Awesome. Cannot recommend these Guitars enough.

    Love my Fat Lady

This guitar truly is the best guitar I have owned by far. The quality of the craftsmanship just oozes from this one..I was considering purchasing a Maton or a P&W guitar till a mate let me play his Fat Lady....one look I was hooked...Cole Clark have combined eco based timbers with superb electronics in the hands of Master Luthiers and have come up with what I think is a masterpiece...

    Best acoustic I've owned

So, I've owned 5 acoustics. Fender, Lag, Maton, Martin and my CC fat lady. The CC was my 2nd guitar, I bought a Maton and it didn't compare so I sold it. I bought a Martin and the tone just wasn't there for me as well as being harder to play. Still have it but it sits in its case and my CC gets played all the time. I get the Martin out occasionally and put it back just as quick. For me, nothing will be better than my CC fat lady. Love her to bits.
