The Maton 80th Anniversary CW80 Dreadnought celebrates eight decades of Australian guitar making with a tribute to one of the most iconic instruments in Maton’s history. Originally introduced in 1967, the CW80 became a beloved workhorse for generations of musicians, appearing everywhere from recording studios and concert stages to coffee shops and living rooms. This special anniversary edition honours that legacy with premium tonewoods, classic styling, and the unmistakable voice that made the original so enduring.

Built with a AAA spruce top and Fijian mahogany back and sides, the CW80 produces a warm, powerful dreadnought tone with excellent projection and rich harmonic depth. A figured Queensland maple neck provides comfortable playability, while traditional appointments such as herringbone rosette detailing, rock maple binding, and a vintage Maton headstock decal evoke the heritage of the original model. Equipped with the AP5 Pro pickup system for natural amplified performance, the 80th Anniversary CW80 remains a true working musician’s guitar—faithful to the spirit of the classic that inspired it.
