Goodtime Artisan Americana Open Back 5-String Banjo

The Goodtime Artisan Americana Open Back 5-String Banjo delivers a warm, resonant tone thanks to its larger 12” rim and Renaissance head combination. This setup enhances low-end response and produces a rich, mellow character that suits old-time music, accompaniment, and clawhammer-style playing, with the kind of laid-back, full-bodied tone that traditional folk settings call for.

Visually striking with a rich brown stain and Midnight Maple fingerboard, this model also features high-quality planetary tuners for accurate tuning and a classic look. Designed and built in the USA, the Artisan Americana reflects Greg Deering's dedication to crafting high-quality, characterful banjos that stay accessible to players of all levels, ideal for old-time and clawhammer players wanting genuine American craftsmanship.
