The Atkin Essential D Custom is a stripped-down take on classic acoustic design that captures 100% Atkin tone in a workhorse dreadnought, handcrafted in Canterbury, England. This example has been upgraded from the usual baked Sitka top to an Adirondack spruce top, braced with pre-war scalloped bracing to deliver a remarkably open sound with a big, powerful low end that's hard to match.

Mahogany back and sides provide a balance of warmth and clarity, while the mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard enhance smooth playability and vintage feel. Taking inspiration from the legendary Martin D-18, and finished in a super-thin aged lacquer, the Essential D Custom is ideal for songwriters and performers who need a versatile, reliable, and resonant instrument for any musical environment.
