The Martin Custom Shop Expert D-18 1937 'Ambertone Stage 1 Aged' is a masterfully built acoustic that fuses vintage authenticity with modern reliability. A premium Adirondack spruce top and genuine mahogany back and sides deliver the classic Martin D-18 tone, with exceptional balance, punch and warmth. Martin's proprietary Stage 1 aging process pairs with a warm Ambertone sunburst finish to give the guitar the look and feel of a well-worn, broken-in instrument, ideal for players who want the charm of a vintage D-18 with the precision of new construction.
Inside, hide glue and cloth strip construction combine with scalloped Adirondack bracing to produce genuine vintage resonance and sustain. The 1-3/4" bone nut, bone saddle and 25.5" scale length give articulate note definition and a dynamic response, while Waverly open-back tuners hold tune reliably and add to the guitar's period-correct look. It's a D-18 built for players who want vintage tone and appointments without compromising on modern build consistency.
