The Martin D-42 Standard Series stands at the pinnacle of dreadnought design, blending prewar elegance with modern craftsmanship. This 2025 refresh brings back revered Golden Era specifications, including forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing beneath a solid spruce top for maximum resonance and touch-sensitive dynamics, while the East Indian rosewood back and sides add deep, complex overtones to every note.

Beyond the sound, the D-42 is a showstopper in appearance, featuring Style 42 abalone trim, snowflake inlays and a bound ebony fingerboard.
