The Maton EM-12 is a genuinely remarkable 12-string acoustic-electric — a full 12-string voice in a compact Mini Series body that sounds like an orchestra but plays with a comfort and ease that larger-bodied 12-strings simply cannot match. Born from Maton's beloved Mini Maton platform, developed at their Box Hill factory in Melbourne, the EM-12 features a solid Bunya top paired with solid Queensland Maple back and sides. Bunya pine is a uniquely Australian tonewood prized for its exceptional clarity and projection, while Queensland Maple delivers a bright, resonant tone that will continue to mature and open up as the timber naturally develops with age and play.

Maton's Double X bracing enhances structural integrity and tonal balance across the full frequency range, while the AP5 Original pickup system delivers the natural, transparent amplified tone that professional performers rely on. Indian rosewood fingerboard and split bridge, chrome Grover Rotomatic tuners, and a bone nut and saddle reflect Maton's no-compromise approach to Australian guitar making at every price point. Ideal for singer-songwriters, session players, and touring musicians who want the lush shimmer and punch of a 12-string in a compact, comfortable, and genuinely stage-ready instrument.

Features

  • Solid Bunya top delivers exceptional clarity and projection in a compact Mini body, producing a full, resonant acoustic voice well beyond what the guitar's size might suggest.
  • Solid Queensland Maple back and sides produce a bright, articulate tone that will continue to improve over time as the timber opens up with regular playing.
  • Maton Double X bracing enhances structural strength, sustain, and tonal balance, ensuring the 12-string's additional string tension is well supported without compromising acoustic response.
  • Maton AP5 Original pickup system delivers natural, transparent amplified tone, making the EM-12 as capable on stage as it is in the living room or studio.
  • Handcrafted in Australia from responsibly sourced tonewoods, with Indian rosewood fingerboard and split bridge, chrome Grover Rotomatic tuners, and bone nut and saddle throughout.
