Lowden F-50 'Sinker Redwood / African Blackwood' Acoustic Guitar

Includes Hardshell Case

The Lowden F-50 'Sinker Redwood / African Blackwood' Acoustic Guitar is the masterpiece of the Lowden F-50 series. These guitars are crafted from selected and reserved Master Grade tone woods, including some of the most exquisite figured woods available, each offering a distinct tonal character.

George Lowden himself states, "When we receive our tone woods into our workshops, we re-grade them several times, and only the rarest and exceptional pieces are reserved for our 50 series. Every 50 series guitar benefits visually and in tone from this very special wood. These are simply the very best we can make!"

Lowden guitars are renowned for their exquisite sound, and the F-50 is no exception. This guitar resonates with a deep, rich tone akin to that of a grand piano. Strum a chord, and you'll be captivated as the sound gracefully fills the air around you. You'll feel the entire body and neck reverberating as you play, a testament to its exceptional craftsmanship. Crafted from Master Grade African Blackwood and Sinker Redwood, each note bounces off the soundboard with crystalline clarity. The dynamism of these tonewoods is astonishing. The beveled armrest and satin finish enhance the playing experience, making it a true joy to play, learn, and compose songs with. The F-body shape is a mid-size design by Lowden, known for its punchy projection, volume, and suitability for various playing styles, including flat-picking, finger-picking, and percussive strumming.

Lowden Guitars consistently dazzle with their elegance and attention to detail. This exceptional F-50 in African Blackwood and Redwood embodies these qualities. It's masterfully constructed with flawless attention to design, fit, and finish. African Blackwood imparts a glassy, rich tone and sustain that seems to go on forever. Remarkably lightweight, it responds effortlessly to delicate fingerstyle playing. Its voice is exceptionally complex, characterized by deep warmth and darkness, yet with the signature Lowden airiness and articulation. This guitar is a perfect match for instrumentalists and complements vocals beautifully.

The combination of Sinker Redwood and African Blackwood, George Lowden's preferred pairing, makes this one of Lowden's most popular models. It's undeniably one of the best-built acoustic models available. Sinker Redwood produces strong, rich overtones, resulting in a bold, resonant sound with rich lower mid frequencies that showcase the guitar's full tonal spectrum. Combining it with the denser, harder African Blackwood imparts rapid response and overtones reminiscent of deep, resonant bells. This particular F-50 features a soundbox bevel for added comfort.
