Available at Acoustic Centre Melbourne

The Cole Clark FL2EC Blackwood is an all-Australian tonewood dreadnought cutaway that brings together a solid Australian Blackwood top, back, and sides in Cole Clark's beloved Fat Lady body - a guitar that is as distinctively and unapologetically Australian as the tonewoods from which it is built. Australian Blackwood is a very close cousin to Hawaiian Koa, sharing many of its most celebrated tonal qualities - warm, complex, and harmonically rich with a natural shimmer and midrange depth that makes it one of the most rewarding and distinctive acoustic tonewoods available anywhere in the world. The colour and figure of Blackwood varies from dark to light and straight-grained to highly figured, meaning every example carries its own unique visual character.

Cole Clark's internally carved top and back allow both surfaces to resonate with maximum freedom, while the Spanish heel integral neck construction - unique among mainstream acoustic guitar makers - joins the neck to the face, sides, and back as a single continuous unit for superior vibration transfer and tonal coupling. The PG3 three-way pickup system combines undersaddle piezo, face sensor, and internal microphone for the most natural and transparent acoustic-electric tone available on any production guitar. Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, inlaid timber binding, purfling, and rosette, snowflake inlays, Grover machine heads, and Graph Tech TUSQ nut and saddle complete a specification built entirely around quality Australian tonewoods and considered construction. Supplied with Cole Clark hardcase and pickguard. Ideal for performing singer-songwriters, fingerstyle players, and anyone who wants a genuinely all-Australian acoustic-electric with warm, complex Blackwood tone and reliable professional-grade electronics.

Features

  • Solid Australian Blackwood top, back, and sides with internally carved top and back delivers a warm, complex, and harmonically rich acoustic voice with the natural shimmer and midrange depth of a tonewood that is a very close cousin to Hawaiian Koa - unique in visual character from instrument to instrument.
  • Cole Clark's Spanish heel integral neck construction joins the neck to the face, sides, and back as a single continuous unit - a construction method unique among mainstream acoustic guitars that delivers superior vibration transfer, tonal coupling, and a characteristically distinctive acoustic voice.
  • Cole Clark PG3 three-way pickup system combines undersaddle piezo, face sensor, and internal microphone for the most natural, transparent, and full-spectrum acoustic-electric amplification available on any production instrument.
  • Nitrocellulose natural satin finish allows the Blackwood tonewoods to resonate freely while showcasing their natural grain and figure, contributing to a more open acoustic response than a thick gloss finish permits.
