The Gibson Custom Shop B.B. King Lucille Legacy pays tribute to the King of the Blues with a faithful, detailed re-creation of his custom-spec'd ES-355. A 3-ply figured maple, poplar and maple body omits the F-holes entirely, just as B.B. King requested, finished in a striking transparent nitrocellulose lacquer that shows off the figuring beneath, while gold hardware, including an engraved "B.B. King" truss rod cover and a TP-6 tailpiece with fine tuners, adds real elegance.

CustomBucker pickups with Alnico V magnets and a handwired harness deliver authentic vintage PAF tone, and a 6-position mono Varitone circuit opens up a genuinely wide range of tones, from chimey rhythm to searing lead. Sitting between a semi-hollowbody and a chambered solidbody, the Lucille Legacy offers excellent feedback resistance without losing warmth, and its SlimTaper neck profile makes it ideal for players chasing effortless string bending and smooth blues phrasing.
