Few acoustic guitars have made the impact of the Gibson J-45. Introduced in 1942, it is the most recorded and best-loved dreadnought in history, and it sits at the heart of Gibson’s legacy with its round-shoulder body, warm low end, and strong projection. The J-45 Standard delivers the voice that made it famous, with impressive mids and focused, punchy bass, and adds Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA electronics for an exceptional plugged-in sound. Ideal for songwriters, recording musicians, and gigging players who want a dependable workhorse with real heritage.

A solid Sitka spruce top over mahogany back and sides gives the unmistakable tone heard across decades of recordings, finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer in Vintage Sunburst with a teardrop tortoiseshell pickguard. The mahogany neck has a fast, comfortable SlimTaper profile and is joined to the body with a compound dovetail joint and hot hide glue for added sustain and resonance. A rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays, Grover Rotomatic tuners, a TUSQ nut and saddle, and a rosewood belly-up bridge complete the specification. The Baggs HiFi DNA system uses two lightweight sensors mounted to the internal bridge plate, with discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls. Supplied with a hardshell case.
