K&K Sound Banjo Twin Pickup

The K&K Sound Banjo Twin is a passive, non-invasive pickup system designed specifically for banjo - engineered to reproduce the true acoustic banjo sound with natural tone quality and minimal effect on the instrument's acoustic voice. Two piezo transducer pickups are mounted inside the banjo head using K&K's proprietary "Catamaran" mounting technique - a removable self-adhesive fastening system that attaches only at the two outer edges of each pickup, leaving the centre portion free-floating. This design enhances vibrational response while reducing the adhesive surface area by approximately 40%, resulting in very little acoustic damping and a more natural, open pickup response than conventional full-contact mounting methods.

No alteration to the instrument is required at any stage of installation - all components are attached with special double-sided tape or self-adhesive fasteners that can be removed without damage, and any residue is easily cleaned with WD-40. The multi-use stereo TRSS endpin jack offers three installation options: external mount using K&K's dual-lock adhesive system (similar to Velcro but significantly stronger, and removable for case storage), internal drill-through installation, or slot mounting in the outer rim. The Banjo Twin performs well in passive mode, particularly with acoustic amplifiers, and pairs naturally with K&K's Pure Preamp when active amplification is required.
