Founded by master luthier Alister Atkin in Canterbury, England, Atkin Guitars are celebrated for their meticulous craftsmanship and vintage-inspired tone. Each instrument is hand-built using time-honoured techniques and premium tonewoods, delivering the warmth, resonance, and character of the golden-era acoustics that inspired them. Combining modern precision with classic soul, Atkin guitars have earned a reputation among discerning players worldwide for their exceptional sound and authentic feel.

The Atkin Forty Seven is a masterfully built slope-shouldered acoustic that captures the soul of Gibson’s pre-war LG-2 while enhancing its balance, playability, and projection. Handcrafted in Canterbury, England, this small-bodied gem features a baked Sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides, combining vintage warmth with a lively and articulate tone. Designed for both fingerstyle and flatpicking, it delivers a remarkably full low end and expressive mids—an ideal all-rounder for players who value character and responsiveness.

True to Atkin’s heritage craftsmanship, the Forty Seven features pre-war scalloped bracing, a comfortable C-shaped mahogany neck, and a stunning aged nitrocellulose finish. Its Santos rosewood fretboard and bridge, Kluson tuners, hand-bevelled tortoiseshell pickguard and subtle (and realistic!) aging process complete a design that feels every bit as inspiring as its vintage ancestors—while playing smoother and sounding more balanced than ever.
