AUSTRALIA'S #1 ACOUSTIC GUITAR SPECIALIST
AUSTRALIA'S #1 ACOUSTIC GUITAR SPECIALIST
The Martin 000-40S Mark Knopfler “Ragpicker’s Dream” Signature is a rare and highly collectible instrument, built to honour Mark Knopfler’s deeply expressive fingerstyle tone and traditional playing approach. Limited to just 155 instruments worldwide, this example is number 152 of 155 and was crafted in 2007 with exceptional attention to historical detail. The 12-fret 000 body delivers a warm, intimate voice with remarkable balance, making it ideal for fingerstyle, blues, and roots-inspired playing.
Featuring a solid Italian Alpine spruce top paired with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, this guitar offers outstanding clarity, dynamic range, and harmonic depth. Vintage-inspired appointments—including herringbone trim, Style 42 snowflake inlays, pyramid bridge, and a slotted headstock—reflect Martin’s pre-war craftsmanship at its finest.
This 2007-built guitar is in fabulous condition, with minimal playwear and some very minor lacquer-level dings. It's just had a setup by Ruben Guitars, with a slinky, buzz-free action and an incredibly responsive feel. It's had an LR Baggs Anthem SL pickup professionally installed, and the original Ivory endpin is included in the case. This guitar remains in excellent condition and comes housed in its original Geib-style case with an interior label signed by both C.F. Martin IV and Mark Knopfler.
