The Martin Custom Shop 0-28 is a beautifully conceived and tonally exceptional small-body acoustic built to the highest specification Martin’s Custom Shop can deliver - a Size 0 that brings together Adirondack spruce, East Indian rosewood, and Golden Era appointments in a format that rewards the most demanding fingerstyle players, recording musicians, and songwriters who want the intimacy, clarity, and nuanced tonal response that a smaller body uniquely provides. The Size 0 body produces a focused, balanced, and remarkably articulate acoustic voice - clear highs, controlled bass, and a natural midrange complexity that larger body guitars with more internal air volume cannot replicate at low dynamic levels, making this one of the most satisfying and personally engaging acoustic instruments Martin produces.

The solid Adirondack spruce top with aging toner is the tonal heart of this Custom Shop 0-28 - the stiffest and most dynamically capable of all the spruce species, capable of enormous volume headroom, immediate responsiveness, and the kind of powerful projection that Adirondack uniquely delivers even in a compact body. Hand-shaped Golden Era scalloped X-bracing allows the top to respond with maximum sensitivity and resonance across the full dynamic range, producing the enhanced sustain and tonal richness that distinguishes GE bracing from contemporary alternatives. Solid East Indian rosewood back and sides add the lush, complex overtones and deep bass character that makes this tonewood combination one of the most celebrated pairings in fine acoustic guitar making. The GE Modified Low Oval mahogany neck, 24.9" scale length, 1-3/4" bone nut, ebony fingerboard with diamond and square long inlays, ebony bridge with bone saddle, herringbone top inlay and purfling, grained ivoroid binding, faux tortoise pickguard, nickel open-gear tuners, and vintage gloss finish throughout complete a Custom Shop specification of genuine historical authenticity and tonal excellence.
