The Martin DE Retro Plus Mahogany delivers everything players love about classic Martin dreadnoughts, reimagined with modern performance in mind. Inspired by Martin’s iconic 18-style models, this Road Series acoustic-electric pairs a torrefied solid spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides for a powerful, open voice that feels beautifully broken-in from the very first strum. The thermally aged spruce top enhances resonance and warmth, offering the depth, clarity, and responsiveness traditionally associated with much older instruments.
Designed to be equally at home on stage or in the studio, the DE Retro Plus Mahogany features a comfortable Performing Artist neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and scalloped X-bracing for strong projection and dynamic range. LR Baggs Element electronics with onboard volume and tone controls provide a natural, reliable amplified sound, making this an ideal workhorse for gigging musicians or players stepping into their first premium acoustic. It’s a modern Martin through and through—built to inspire now, and for decades to come.
