Available at Acoustic Centre Melbourne

The Maton EA80C Australian is a celebration of Australian tonewood craftsmanship and Maton's five decades of experience shaping native timbers into world-class acoustic guitars - a guitar that is as uniquely and unapologetically Australian as the tonewoods from which it is built, and one that sits comfortably alongside the finest acoustic-electric guitars the world has to offer. The EA80C brings together a solid Bunya pine top, AA-grade Blackwood back and sides, solid Blackwood neck, and Desert Acacia fingerboard and bridge in a timber selection drawn almost entirely from Australian native species - a tonewood combination of extraordinary character and tonal distinction that no instrument from outside this country can replicate.

Bunya pine is a uniquely Australian tonewood of exceptional quality - bright, clear, and brilliantly articulate with a natural resonance and dynamic headroom that rewards every nuance of playing technique and only deepens with age and play. AA-grade Blackwood back and sides contribute warmth, complexity, and a shimmering harmonic richness that complements the Bunya top beautifully, with the Blackwood and rock maple pinstripe zipper down the centre back adding a striking visual detail that reflects the care and craftsmanship invested in every Australian Series instrument. In the full dreadnought body the combination produces real power, depth, and projection, while the cutaway keeps the upper frets comfortably within reach for melodic and lead playing. Herringbone binding, UV gloss face finish, gold Grover Rotomatic tuners, bone nut and saddle, and the AP5-Pro pickup system complete an instrument that is as visually distinguished as it is tonally exceptional.

This 2025-built guitar is in flawless condition, with the original pickguard protective plastic still attached! There's barely any playwear, and it's playing wonderfully. The EA80C is my personal favourite in the Maton lineup, and this is a stellar example. Includes original hardshell case.
