The Katoh MCG50C moves a step up from the MCG40 range with a solid cedar top, giving it a warmer, more immediate response than a spruce-topped classical guitar. Cedar's softer attack suits players who want tone to bloom quickly under the fingers, and rosewood back and sides add depth and sustain, rounding out a rich, resonant voice that suits both study and performance.

Spanish fan bracing supports that resonance without blurring note definition, and a mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard keeps the playing feel consistent with the rest of the Katoh classical range. Indian rosewood binding and bridge, a natural inlaid wood mosaic rosette, and Katoh gold tuning machines finish the guitar with the same attention to detail found throughout the series, and it comes with a padded gig bag for easy transport. Ideal for players stepping up from an entry-level classical guitar who want a warmer, more complex tone without moving to a premium instrument.
