    Amazing Service, Quality Mandolin

Ordered a Beautiful New Eastman Mandolin online and was ready for pick up in store within the hour! What a beautiful sounding instrument. Pretty sure my playing improved the instant I strummed it.

    Not Merely A Learner Instrument.

While seemingly the least expensive of the Eastman Mando. line, this instrument is satisfactory in every way from its pleasing (to me) understated appearance to my inexperienced ear's sound--- I'm new to mandolin. Once I learn to properly wrangle the ******....

    Fantastic for the money.

Probably the best value F style mandolin available. The workmanship and set up on mine is top notch and it has a beautiful tone and a great chop. I bought mine 2 months ago and the team at the Acoustic Centre were fantastic to deal with. Very happy with my 315.

    nearly great

Bought one of these in the Acoustic Centre at Xmas 2019. The staff were great and I had the opportunity to play 4 different Eastman mandolins. I went for the MD315 because it delivered the sound of the next 2 more expensive models at a cheaper price. I then could afford to have the LR Baggs Radius pickup fitted ( Super sound!). having played it for 6 months the loss of a star is due to one tuner key slipping and showing signs of wear - so a very annoying A string that drops tuning every few minutes. Need to replace the tuners and that has added another $100 or more to the cost. But still worth the money and my advice is to go to the Acoustic Centre and play the range they have before buying.

    Great entry level mandolin

I've owned an Eastman MD315 for about three years now, and have learnt to play mandolin primarily on this instrument. It's got excellent tone, nice and dry with a good bark. Perfect for bluegrass and old time, but will handle the Irish repertoire nicely too. I have found the matte finish is not as resistant to scuffs and abrasions as a gloss finish. A fingernail can leave a noticeable mark on these things. However, the retro finishes that Eastman do are attractive. Aesthetically, it ranks highly in my opinion. When played next to a nice Collings F style, it becomes clear that tonally it's not quite as good, but for a factory made Chinese instrument it's pretty darn close. I would definitely recommend an Eastman mandolin as a first mandolin as it gets you in the ball park in terms of tone and playability and can usually be acquired for under a grand. Make sure to grab a hard case with one of these, it's quite easy to knock the scroll off the headstock.

    Eastman MD315....what a delight!

Saw it advertised, heard it played on youtube, read the reviews and decided to purchase a mandolin to compliment my octave and mandocello but well and truely surprised at how much better it was as a playable, visually engaging and great sounding instrument.
