Known as the “King of the Flat-Tops,” the SJ-200 delivers a vast, piano-like low end, clear articulation, and unmistakable visual presence. This Custom Shop model is built to reflect the golden-era originals, combining classic tonewoods with expert craftsmanship for a truly commanding acoustic voice.
Featuring a thermally aged Sitka spruce top and beautifully figured flame maple back and sides, this guitar offers a powerful yet refined tonal response with exceptional projection. The Murphy Lab Light Aged treatment adds subtle wear and patina, giving the instrument the broken-in feel and character of a well-loved vintage example. Finished with era-correct appointments and supplied in a hard case, this 1957 SJ-200 is a premium instrument for players and collectors seeking authentic Gibson heritage tone and feel.
This 2023-built guitar is phenomenal, capturing the classic Gibson jumbo tone that's graced so many classic recordings. The subtle aging is incredible - it really feels old, with the added bonus of modern build quality. The playability is superb, and the tone is rich, thick and dripping with vintage vibe. The SJ-200 is a legendary guitar in every respect, and this is about as good as they get! Includes original hardshell case.
