Collings 002H 14-Fret Preowned 2020

The Collings 002H 14-Fret is a masterclass in small-body refinement, a handbuilt 00 from Austin, Texas that finds the sweet spot between compact comfort and a deeply resonant, articulate voice. A solid Sitka spruce top over solid East Indian rosewood back and sides gives a detailed, rich tone, with clear, singing trebles and warm, focused lows, while the pre-war scalloped X-bracing keeps the response quick, open, and beautifully balanced. Ideal for fingerstyle players, songwriters, and recording musicians who want boutique craftsmanship in a guitar that feels instantly at home in the hands.

This 002H carries Collings’ Style 2 appointments: ivoroid body binding, herringbone top purfling, an ivoroid and tortoise rosette, and a “zipper” backstrip, with abalone short diamond and square inlays on the unbound ebony fingerboard. The short 24 7/8" scale length and Modified V Honduran mahogany neck make for easy, comfortable playing, while a bone nut and saddle, ebony belly bridge, and nickel Waverly tuners complete the specification. The high gloss nitrocellulose finish lets the instrument breathe and sing.

This 2020-built guitar is in fantastic condition, with no dings or dents and only a few light polishing swirls. It's got a great medium action, and sounds enormous - a truly head-turning 00! Includes original hardshell case.
