The Regal RD-52 Black Lightning is a squareneck resonator guitar built in the classic California style, all-mahogany construction throughout, top, back, sides, and neck, finished in a translucent black high gloss lacquer that lets the timber grain show through. The square neck and 12th-fret neck joint keep the RD-52 in true bluegrass and lap-style resonator territory, and the rock maple trapezoid ported soundwell adds rich, authentic tone with excellent sustain and clarity for slide, bluegrass, or traditional folk playing.

At its core sits a deluxe USA-made spun aluminium cone paired with Golden Gate's patented spider bridge and maple saddle, delivering crisp, resonant projection with plenty of vintage character. The art deco Black Lightning inlay on the headstock, ivoroid binding on the fingerboard and peghead, and vintage-style open-back tuners with butterbean buttons round out a guitar that is ideal for working musicians who want authentic 1930s resonator tone and looks without a vintage price tag.
