The Shubb SP1 is the original Shubb-Pearse tone bar, designed in collaboration with renowned guitarist John Pearse. Crafted from solid stainless steel, the SP1 is built for modern slide techniques while retaining a classic feel. Its longer length and unique semi-bullet tip make it especially popular with lap steel and Hawaiian guitar players, offering smooth string transitions and improved control during fast, intricate passages.
Unlike plated bars, the SP1 resists nicks and wear, ensuring a long lifespan and consistent performance. The cutaway ends provide enhanced maneuverability for pull-offs and slants, and its balanced weight helps deliver sustain-rich tones across 6- or 8-string lap steel setups. Whether you're playing bluegrass, country, or traditional Hawaiian music, the SP1 delivers reliable tone and ergonomic playability.

Acoustic Centre offers free shipping on all new items to most locations within Australia on all orders over $99, excluding Western Australia, Northern Territory and Far North Queensland. Used items have a flat rate shipping fee of $59 within our usual shipping locations. We also offer competitive Express shipping options at checkout.
Customers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Far North Queensland recieve free shipping on all accessory orders over $99, but will incur a flat rate instrument or large item shipping charge of $179 (or $299 for Express shipping).
Occasionally due to issues with delivering to remote or unusual destinations, we aren't able to offer free postage. We reserve the right to retract the offer if freight costs exceed 15% of your purchase. We will always notify you if there is an issue and offer a full refund or arrange alternative delivery options.
All strings and accessories will be shipped with tracking via courier or Australia Post. Other items including guitars and amplification equipment will be shipped using our courier service providers, with a tracking number and signature on delivery.

A fantastic product that feels great to play with and sits really well in the hand. The wood gives great feel and the stainless steel produces a fantastic tone on both acoustic and electric.
