Designed in collaboration with the legendary session guitarist Larry Carlton, the Sire Larry Carlton S3 electric guitar offers a fresh twist on the classic 3-pickup solidbody design. Featuring a warm-sounding mahogany body instead of the usual alder, the S3 is paired with one Standard-ST humbucker and two Standard-ST single-coils for a versatile tonal palette. The guitar's rosewood-on-maple neck boasts medium-jumbo frets, a 9.5-inch radius, and rolled fingerboard edges, all contributing to a high-performance playing experience. A Sire standard 2-post tremolo bridge and Sire standard tuners ensure reliable performance and tuning stability.
The S3's pickup configuration includes one Sire Standard-ST humbucker and two Sire Standard-ST single-coils, controlled by a 5-way switch. This setup delivers a wide range of tones, from glassy highs and restrained mids to punchy lows and quacky in-between sounds. Designed in collaboration with Larry Carlton, these pickups offer a superb sonic range and versatility suitable for a variety of musical styles.
The neck of the S3 is crafted for speed and comfort, featuring a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, medium-jumbo frets, and a 9.5-inch radius for smooth action and effortless bends. The "C" shape of the neck provides a comfortable grip for players of all styles, offering a balanced profile that feels just right.
The Sire Larry Carlton S3 stands out with its mahogany body, which imparts a warmer, rounder tone compared to the more common alder or ash. This unique construction complements the guitar's pickup configuration, adding richness to the sound while maintaining clarity.
