This Taylor Limited Edition Cocobolo GS is a rare and highly collectible acoustic-electric guitar from Taylor’s sought-after Fall 2004 Limited Edition series. Built around Taylor’s powerful Grand Symphony body shape, this model pairs a solid Sitka Spruce top with stunning Cocobolo back and sides, creating a voice that is both commanding and refined. The Sitka top delivers exceptional clarity, projection, and dynamic range, while the Cocobolo contributes rich overtones, piano-like bass response, and a warmth that continues to develop with age.
Visually, this guitar is every bit as impressive as it sounds. The dramatic figuring of the Cocobolo is complemented by elegant curly maple binding, an abalone rosette, and a high-gloss finish that showcases every detail of the premium tonewoods. Equipped with Taylor’s original Expression System electronics, the guitar captures its natural acoustic character with remarkable accuracy, making it equally at home on stage, in the studio, or as part of a discerning collection. A rare combination of classic Taylor craftsmanship and exotic tonewoods, the Cocobolo GS remains one of the standout limited editions from the 2000s.
This gorgeous 2008-built guitar is in superb condition, with almost zero playwear and a great slinky action. It has a deep, round and piano-like tone with tremendous balance and headroom, and the timbers used throughout are incredible. A stunning and rare Taylor Grand Symphony.
