Founded by master luthier Alister Atkin in Canterbury, England, Atkin Guitars are built using time-honoured techniques and premium tonewoods, delivering the warmth, resonance and character of the golden-era acoustics that inspired them. The White Rice Dreadnought Aged pays homage to one of the most iconic guitars in history, Tony Rice's legendary D-28 previously owned by Clarence White, recreating its enlarged soundhole, overhanging fretboard and relic'd vintage finish for the same cannon-like power and tonal character prized by bluegrass and flatpicking players.
Handcrafted in Canterbury, England, the guitar combines a Sitka spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides for immense projection, sustain and warmth, backed by scalloped X-bracing and a soft V-shaped mahogany neck for rich tonal balance and smooth playability. Finished in a naturally aged gloss and fitted with an ebony fingerboard, ivoroid binding and Gotoh open-gear tuners, it's ideal for players chasing the sound and feel of one of the greatest dreadnoughts ever built.
