AUSTRALIA'S #1 ACOUSTIC GUITAR SPECIALIST
AUSTRALIA'S #1 ACOUSTIC GUITAR SPECIALIST
Founded by master luthier Alister Atkin in Canterbury, England, Atkin Guitars are celebrated for their meticulous craftsmanship and vintage-inspired tone. Each instrument is hand-built using time-honoured techniques and premium tonewoods, delivering the warmth, resonance, and character of the golden-era acoustics that inspired them. Combining modern precision with classic soul, Atkin guitars have earned a reputation among discerning players worldwide for their exceptional sound and authentic feel.
The Atkin White Rice Dreadnought Aged pays homage to one of the most iconic guitars in history — Tony Rice’s legendary D-28, previously owned by Clarence White. This Historic Series model is a meticulous recreation of that revered instrument, featuring the same enlarged soundhole, overhanging fretboard, and relic’d vintage finish. Every detail has been faithfully executed to deliver the same cannon-like power and exceptional tonal character that made the original famous among bluegrass and flatpicking players.
Handcrafted in Canterbury, England, this guitar combines a Sitka spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides for immense projection, sustain, and warmth. Its scalloped X-bracing and soft V-shaped mahogany neck ensure a rich tonal balance with smooth playability. Finished in a naturally aged gloss and complete with an ebony fingerboard, ivoroid binding, and Gotoh open-gear tuners, the White Rice is an extraordinary tribute to one of the greatest dreadnoughts ever built.
