This David Worthy 'Acoustic Centre 30th Anniversary' Slope Shoulder Dreadnought was handcrafted near Dandenong, Victoria, as one of three limited-edition instruments David built to mark 30 years of Acoustic Centre, alongside a 12-fret Parlour and the small-bodied Talisman. All three share the same rare pairing of Engelmann Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood, and this powerful slope-shouldered dreadnought puts that combination to work in a shape built for volume and low-end depth.
An Engelmann Spruce top and Brazilian Rosewood back and sides sit on a Mahogany neck with a carbon fibre reinforced, ultra-lightweight core, delivering an airy, balanced tone with full bass and brilliant trebles. Hand-scalloped and tuned braces, an ebony fretboard and bridge, ebony binding, and rosettes in Ringed Gidgee and blackwood round out a genuinely handmade instrument, finished with Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons and supplied in a hardshell case. It's ideal for players seeking a rare, one-off dreadnought built by one of Victoria's most respected luthiers.
