AUSTRALIA'S #1 ACOUSTIC GUITAR SPECIALIST
AUSTRALIA'S #1 ACOUSTIC GUITAR SPECIALIST
To celebrate 30 years of Acoustic Centre, we have collaborated with our favourite builders to create a range of limited-edition versions of some of our favourite acoustic guitars of all time, arriving throughout 2023.
David Worthy's 'Acoustic Centre 30th Anniversary' Slope Shoulder Dreadnought is a masterpiece of luthiery, a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of this renowned Victorian builder. Handcrafted near Dandenong, Victoria, each Worthy guitar is a custom work of art, and for Acoustic Centre's 30th Anniversary, David has created not one but three incredible instruments, showcasing the combination of Engelmann Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood across three distinctive body shapes; a 12-fret Parlour, the small-bodied Talisman, and this powerful slope-shouldered dreadnought.
This stunning guitar boasts an Engelmann Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and a Mahogany neck. The combination of these tonewoods creates an airy, balanced tone that's perfect for a wide range of musical styles. It's not just about the sound, though; this guitar is a visual masterpiece with ebony bindings, rosettes in Ringed Gidgee and blackwood, and an ebony fretboard and bridge. The Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons ensure smooth and precise tuning.
Every detail of this instrument reflects David Worthy's commitment to excellence. It features hand-scalloped and tuned braces, a Carbon Fiber ultra-lightweight reinforced neck, laminated tail blocks, and luxurious Gotoh 510 tuning machines. Brazilian Rosewood is a legendarily rare and prized tonewood, known for its magical tonal character and deep, rich beauty, and the set selected by David for this guitar is breathtaking in appearance and otherworldly in tone. Brazilian rosewood produces a loud, warm, rich tone, with full deep bass and brilliant trebles, delivering excellent sustain and clarity. For many players, this particular species of South American hardwood has long been seen as the pièce de résistance of fingerboard and acoustic body woods, considered superior in both looks and tone to other varieties of rosewood. Given the choice, some players wouldn’t play anything else!
For musicians who demand the best, this David Worthy masterpiece is an opportunity to own a piece of luthiery history and experience the unmatched beauty and tonal richness of Brazilian Rosewood. Don't miss the chance to own this one-of-a-kind instrument, a true gem for discerning musicians. This guitar is a true collector's item and comes with a hardshell case for protection.
