The Collings 01 is one of the most satisfying and genuinely characterful small-body acoustic guitars produced in Austin, Texas - a 14-fret Single-0 that delivers the uniquely round, punchy, and intimate tonal character that small-body guitar enthusiasts have always prized, alongside the impressive volume, headroom, and quick response that Collings instruments are universally celebrated for. Built in 2017 with a Sitka spruce top and Honduran mahogany back and sides, the 01 produces a warm, focused tone with a punchy midrange and a tight, clean low end - the classic "small body character" that works equally well as a travel companion, a recording instrument, or a stage guitar.

The pre-war scalloped X-bracing allows the Sitka spruce top to respond with maximum sensitivity and resonance, while the mortise and tenon hybrid neck joint, modified V neck profile with 1-11/16" nut width, and compound 14-26" fingerboard radius deliver the comfortable, vintage-inspired playing feel that distinguishes Collings from every mass-produced alternative. Tortoise body binding with b/w/b/w top purfling, ebony fingerboard with MOP short dots, ebony belly-style bridge, Nickel Waverly tuners, and high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer body finish reflect Collings' characteristic attention to material quality and visual refinement throughout.

This incredible small-bodied guitar is the ultimate couch guitar - sweet, warm and impossibly rich for it's size, it's tremendously responsive and hard to put down. There's very little playwear, aside from a few lacquer-level pick marks and some light pickguard wear, and it plays beautifully. The soundhole label is also signed by Bill Collings himself, in his final year at Collings - a lovely detail. An incredibly crafted and tonally superb small-body guitar. Includes original case.
