Immerse yourself in the rich heritage of Gibson guitars with this stunning Gibson 1960 Hummingbird Fixed Bridge. Originally introduced in 1960, this square-shouldered dreadnought quickly became an icon in the music world and continues to captivate musicians to this day. Now, you can experience the timeless beauty and exceptional sound of this legendary instrument, carefully crafted with a thermally aged Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The combination of tonewoods delivers a balanced and bright tone, complemented by harmonic complexity that shines in any musical genre. The exquisite hand-painted pickguard adds an authentic touch, while the VOS cherry sunburst finish gives the guitar a stunning visual appeal.
This 2023-built guitar is in wonderful condition, with only minimal playwear and some light lacquer-level swirls on the back (as well as one small patch of lifted lacquer on the back by the binding, about 2mm in diameter). It's clearly been very well cared-for, and has the classic Hummingbird tone - dry, wood and full of character. In my humble opinion, this Custom Shop guitar nails the sound that the Hummingbird is known for, more so than most vintage Hummingbirds! Includes original hardshell case.
