The Gibson J-50 is one of the most beloved acoustic guitars in American music history, sharing its construction and sonic DNA with the iconic J-45 but finished in a striking natural top rather than sunburst. This 1956 example carries a genuine V-series Factory Order Number and presents in genuinely exceptional condition for a guitar of its age, with the original lacquer still largely intact, showing only minor nicks, some light pick scratches above the soundhole, and gentle soundhole wear on the treble edge. The fine-grain spruce top and mahogany back and sides deliver the warm, balanced, and richly projecting tone that has made the J-45/J-50 platform a benchmark for round-shoulder dreadnoughts for seven decades.

The Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge add a level of material rarity that is simply unavailable in the vast majority of modern production guitars, while the round C neck profile sits comfortably between thick and thin for genuinely effortless playability. It's had a professional stainless steel refret to keep the guitar performing at its best while preserving its vintage character, and it comes housed in its original Gibson alligator-pattern plaque case.

This incredible 1956-built guitar absolutely nails the tone and feel of classic Gibson Americana, and it's wonderful condition for it's age. A rare opportunity for serious vintage collectors and players alike to own a 1956 Gibson in outstanding playing and cosmetic condition.
