The Gibson Songwriter Deluxe EC is a premium acoustic-electric built around Gibson's jumbo body format, delivering powerful projection and rich, full-bodied tone suited to strumming, flatpicking, and expressive singer-songwriter playing. The EC (Elegant Cutaway) designation adds a graceful single cutaway to the jumbo body, providing comfortable upper-fret access without compromising the body volume and tonal power of the full jumbo format. Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides, the Songwriter Deluxe EC features premium cosmetic appointments and L.R. Baggs electronics for a complete stage and studio package.
This 2006-built guitar is in good but well-used condition. The action is just on the high side of medium, and there appears to have been some movement in the lacquer around the bridge. That aside, the intonation is spot on and this is fantastic-sounding dreadnought - loud, clear and powerful, with great balance. It's a great fit for singer-songwriters, performing acousticians, and Gibson enthusiasts who want a premium cutaway jumbo with genuine tonal authority and elegant appointments at a price that won't break the bank. Includes original hardshell case.
